László Bocsárdi was born in 1958 in Târgu Mureş and graduated from "Politehnica" University in Timişoara in 1984. During his studies he was a member of a student theatre company and later on he founded the experimental theatre company "Figura Stúdió". As of 1990, he focused drama only and in 1995 he finished his studies in stage directing. In the same year he became general manager and artistic consultant at "Tamási Áron" Theatre in Sfântu Gheorghe. In 2012 he won the UNITER prize for best director for the show "Caligula" in Craiova. He had been nominated four times before for the shows: Antigone (Sophocles), 2004, Othello, the Moor of Venice (William Shakespeare), 2005, and was also nominated for the best staging of the year for the plays: Don Juan (Molière), 2008, Yvonne, Princess of Burgundy (Witold Gombrowicz), 2009.
